ABOUT THE TEAM

For over 50 years, the McGuigan Pepin Team has been at the heart of Montreal’s most important real estate stories. Founded in 1974 by Joan Pepin and Brian McGuigan and now led by Joan alongside her son, Tim McGuigan, this is more than a real estate team—it’s a legacy.

Every transaction is guided by a philosophy that’s simple yet rare: personalized service, market mastery, and a steadfast commitment to clients’ goals.

They know Montreal’s streets, schools, parks, and neighborhoods as only true locals can. That knowledge—paired with a refined approach to marketing and client care—has helped generations of families find their first homes, dream homes, and final chapters.

Tim McGuigan

Certified Real Estate Broker | Partner, McGuigan Pepin

For over 45 years, Tim McGuigan has dedicated his career to helping people navigate life’s most important decisions—whether managing their finances or finding the perfect home. With a professional background spanning healthcare, banking, and real estate, Tim brings a rare blend of experience, analytical expertise, and genuine care to every client he serves. Before joining real estate, Tim spent a decade in healthcare and another 10 years in banking, where he held leadership roles in economics, financial planning, and investment counselling for major Canadian financial institutions. Recruited by RBC in 1997, he launched a new program for affluent clients from the ground up, collaborating with trust companies, brokerage houses, and banking services. He also played a key role in community outreach, working closely with NDG merchants and fundraising initiatives. In 2000, Tim joined the family business, McGuigan Pepin, adding his expertise to an already accomplished team. By 2004, he had earned his Chartered Real Estate Broker’s license, firmly establishing himself as a trusted advisor in Montréal’s dynamic property market. An award-winning professional in both sales and management, Tim has also mentored countless individuals entering the banking and real estate industries over the last three decades. His philosophy is simple yet powerful: “The right broker makes all the difference.” Known for his insightful market commentary and strong sales record, Tim is widely respected in the real estate industry. He has also been actively involved in the community through service on NDG daycare boards, two condominium associations, the Monkland Merchants Association, the Westmount Rotary, and the Westmount Arts community. He has further contributed to major events such as the Canadian Open and the Du Maurier Classic. A proud Montréal native, born and raised in NDG, Tim is fluently bilingual and deeply connected to the city’s culture. Beyond real estate, he enjoys golf, baseball, hockey, and artistic pursuits, as well as design. Above all, Tim values family and is proud of his children, grandchildren, and his family’s strong entrepreneurial legacy.

Joan McGuigan

Certified Real Estate Broker | Partner, McGuigan Pepin

Real estate isn’t just Joan Pepin McGuigan’s career—it’s her family’s legacy, spanning four generations. She began her journey in 1970, following in the footsteps of her trailblazing mother, one of Montréal’s early female real estate pioneers. Today, that tradition continues with her daughter, Sharon McGuigan—an award-winning Royal LePage agent in Toronto—and her grandson, Scott Outridge, now a licensed broker with Re/Max. Joan earned her Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, one of only ten women in her graduating class of seventy-five. Over the decades, she has been a driving force in Montréal’s real estate market, blending business expertise with a deep commitment to her clients. After 25 years at Royal LePage—where she earned the prestigious Lifetime Award of Excellence—Joan launched McGuigan Pepin Inc. with her husband, Brian, in 1995. Their son Tim joined soon after, and the family team became known for their trusted service and exceptional results. In 2012, Joan and Brian partnered with Century 21 Canada, co-owning the Westmount franchise, Century21 McGuigan Pepin Fine Homes and Estates. Since 2019, Joan has partnered with Tim as Team McGuigan Pepin at Royal LePage Heritage on Greene Avenue, continuing to serve Montréal with integrity, expertise, and heart. Beyond real estate, Joan is a passionate community advocate. She has raised funds for the Montréal Chamber Orchestra, co-founded and chaired the Commerce ’55 Scholarship Endowment Fund (supporting McGill students since 1985), and worked actively with the McGill Women’s Alumnae Association. Her dedication to both her profession and her community has earned her the Distinguished Service Award from the McGill Alumni Association. For Joan, real estate is about more than transactions—it’s about building relationships, supporting dreams, and carrying forward a legacy of excellence.
